Hello, cycopaths! Welcome to Friday. I hope it’s been a good one so far.
We have another interesting lineup of bicycles leaning up against stuff to stare at today during our lunch breaks. I hope you find it entertaining and I hope you participate again in voting for your favorites.
Last week, the photo with the most votes went to Michael Jarosick’s light blue Lombardo. And actually, the bike didn’t belong to him.
“It’s not my bike — not the one I was riding,” he said.
You’d be able to infer this if you knew Mike, who’s finished nine gravel races this year. And he plans on squeezing in a tenth in early November. He’s also an avid mountain biker and serves as prez of the Mohican-Malabar Bike Club. So cruiser bikes aren’t exactly his speed.
Nonetheless, he appreciates all bikes.
I caught up with Mike and asked him about the story behind the picture. He said he happened to be on vacation in Ireland at the time. “I was somewhere in a rural place, and I came upon an old building, it was nicely refurbished. It had modern windows. So European, you know?”
He imagined the bike belonged to someone riding in to work.
“It was a cruiser bike, made for comfort. I was drawn to the leather saddle bag, the Brooks saddle. And then it had the generator for the headlights. I had one of those things on my bike in the 60s.”
He said it was a cool scene, so he took the shot.
Thanks Mike for taking time to zoom out on the pic for everyone who was interested. And thank you to everyone who participated in the poll last week.
And now, without further ado, here is the next installment of the Weekly Cyco Gallery. Thank you to our contributors this week: Nelson, Janet, Anthony, Mike, Patrick.
There you have it, folks. Don’t forget to vote! The bike with the most get’s a blurb in next week’s installment.
If you have bikies, please submit them to brazdill.25@gmail.com. Include the location, the date of the photo and the year, make and model of the bike.
Look for installments of the Weekly Cyco Gallery to drop every Friday afternoon, around lunch time.
