Congratulations! Improving by an hour under those adverse conditions is impressive. My hope is for better weather next year so the news is about how “fun” the trails are in Mohican country. 😆
congrats to you and to all who attempted. and finished this race i was just wondering has anyone seen photos from this event other than the podiums like out on the trails or other uncanny spots there is usually always sneaky people taking pics.. i haven't seen any pics or photos. justbwant to see some if there out there. thank you all be safe and as always just keep pedaling
Excellent summary of your adventure. Amazing job shaving that much time on a muddy day! Muddy conditions like that require much greater energy expenditure and time. I rode sweep for about a third of the course, so I got a good taste of the conditions. Thanks for noticing and calling out the difference between our mountain bike trail in Mohican State Park and Forest that is properly benched and routed (in most places) and the seriously muddy parts of the race course (horse trails, double track, Mohican Wilderness, etc.). I predict you will break 8 hours next year if the weather cooperates.
How cool.. I worked with a tri/ironman coach for the past 1 1/2 years getting my body in shape. The race was very challenging. If it did not rain I could have shaved a couple of hours off of the day. All in all, an amazing experience. My hood is the trails around Uxbridge.. Durham Forest, Dagmar.. let me know if you get out this way. lindsay@buyselllove.ca
Nice, dude! I'd like to do the 100-miler someday. Wanna get faster at the 100k first. (By the way, I know a few people in Oshawa. I was born in Toronto.)
Good question. A quick glance shows there were 44 people who registered in the 50+ class for the 100 mile race. There were 67 racers in the 50+ class for the 100k. I checked a few names and there was one guy who raced the 100k who was 70! Jeff Doerr, from Stanwood, Michigan. Clocked in at 8:43:56.
Oh yeah that ride was brutal. My bike needs to be taken part and regreased. I made it 100k on the 100 mile course. It was my first endurance challenge ever. Great job on your times! I know I was at least 15 minutes behind you the whole way.
Congratulations on finishing this epic ride in adverse conditions!
Great job, man. It’s a super impressive feat under any circumstances, but that kind of mud makes it even more amazing.

The trails in Mohican country ARE fun. A little dirt don’t hurt.
Congratulations Dillon! I don’t think I could handle all the mud, let alone the pain of it all. Well done and well written - and pictured.

I'm sure those renegade, underground photos exist. Might take some sleuthing... Thanks for reading Billy!

Loved reading your summary of the Mohican 100, by the way, do you have any idea who the "oldest" rider was?

Solid job, dude. You, me and Jace need to get together for a ride sometime.
