But my husband is.
I hope that caught your attention, because I’m not so sure I’ll be able to continue keeping it as well as the great Dillon Garrett Carr can, especially since I know very little about bikes and I hear you all are a bunch of cycopaths. My strengths and hobbies are much different than my husband’s, but I think that’s what makes us great together.
One thing I do enjoy is helping others, and tonight — Dillon needs my help. It’s Tuesday night, kids are in bed, and Dillon is out on the beat, trying to best capture the excitement and thrill that many are experiencing while watching the votes roll in. It’s a night all journalists (well, at least the ones I know) look forward to. Pizza in the break room, camaraderie, y’know … journalist stuff. He’ll probably be working until close to midnight. Earlier, he mentioned he wasn’t sure he would find the time to squeeze in perfecting his post for Wednesday morning. So here I am, trying to help.
He was in an especially good mood today, one very few things can evoke. Two of which are the excitement of Voting Day in the journalism world, and also when he gets to do anything that involves a bike.
A few minutes in the garage tuning up before a ride, a quick trip to the local bike shop, and of course the blessed day he gets to race or have a time-limit-free ride. I know he wishes he could have more time enjoying those activities, but for now he works hard keeping his three ladies afloat.
I’ll wrap this up, I know this isn’t the bike content you’re used to reading, but I’m here to say thank you. Giving him a like, a comment, subscribing to his content, and even telling a friend to do the same means the world to us both. It’s thrilling to find others are interested in what he has to share, and even more so when they interact with his content. He’s always had great ideas, so I promise there’s more great stuff to come.
So for now, fellow cycopaths, strap on a helmet and go for a ride while you can. It’s not gettin’ any warmer out there.
P.S. This is Dillon now. It is, in fact, after midnight. Caitlin sent me this post as I was working to file stories for my day (and night) job. So thankful. I hope this made you smile. It sure made me crack one.
P.P.S. I’ll be back with our typical Cycotherapy content on Friday, with our latest issue of the Weekly Cyco Gallery. It’s gonna be a good one; don’t miss it. And if you have submissions of bikies, it’s not too late to send them my way! You can submit them to brazdill.25@gmail.com.
I think you are a great writer Caitin! This made me smile for so many reasons! You are absolutely right, you are different but a perfect match for each other!
Thank you for helping Dillon and always being in his corner! ~Linda xxoo
