Greetings, cycopaths.
I know — it’s been a while since my last post. I hope all is well with you and that you’ve been able to find time to get in the saddle.
This morning, I participated in our YMCA’s Turkey Trot. It was a frigid 34 degrees and frostbite to the fingers was on my mind. Thankfully, they warmed as the miles progressed.
It wasn’t a bike ride — but I was able to ride my bike to the starting point and back to my house. So I guess that counts for something.
I was also able to reconnect with some people I haven’t seen in a while. And so it felt good, and apt, for the holiday.
Thank you all for reading Cycotherapy. I hope you’re able to reconnect with familiar faces, ride bikes and eat. And I hope you do all these things in [relative] excess.
Here’s some solid advice from Amelia Robinson, the opinion editor at the Columbus Dispatch:
“…Thanksgiving is not the ideal time to preach moderation. The holiday is as much about butter as it is about being grateful for that butter and sharing your butter.
I might not need that extra piece of pie, but I need that extra piece of pie. I need t as much as I need to pay my taxes or fill my car’s tank up with gas. It is hard being an adult human.
An unreasonable number of starches on Thanksgiving Day help.
The healthy greens can wait until Friday.”
Happy Thanksgiving! Thank you for sharing your adventures in such a colorful way. 👊
